RefRater ("we", "us", "the site") is a community platform for rating and discussing Premier League refereeing decisions. This page explains what information we collect, why, and how you can control it.
When you create an account, we collect the email address and password you provide (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase) and a profile you build yourself: username, supported team, and an optional avatar badge. We never see or store your password in plain text — that's managed entirely by Supabase's authentication system.
Once signed in, activity you generate is stored against your account so it can be displayed back to you and other users: votes cast on referee incidents, forum posts and comments, and any support messages you send us (which may include your email address if you provide one).
If you contact us without an account (for example via our Contact page), we only store what you choose to send us — typically your name, email address, and message.
We use your browser's local storage (not third-party tracking cookies) to keep you signed in between visits and to remember your light/dark theme preference. This data stays on your device and is not accessible to other websites.
We serve ads through Google AdSense, which uses cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising, or see what data Google holds, at Google's Ads Settings. We also load fonts from Google Fonts and a JavaScript library from the jsDelivr CDN — both of these providers can see the IP address of the browser requesting them, as is standard for any CDN-hosted resource.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the service providers (like Supabase, our database and authentication provider) needed to run the site.
You can update your profile (username, team, avatar) at any time from your Profile page. To request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account, contact us using the details below — we'll action deletion requests as soon as we reasonably can.
RefRater is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we'll remove it.
If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use RefRater after a change means you accept the updated policy.
